Updates as of January 24, 2025:

  1. USP has released the updated platform for DSC Online. The updated site will continue to deliver DSC content with an enhanced user experience while providing a more responsive and stable system.
  2. Previously saved profile data (viewing activity, bookmarks, and alerts) have been transferred to the updated platform.
  3. Search functionality and performance have been improved. For recommendations on searching DSC Online, please refer to the following pages:
  4. Frequently used search terms can now be saved.
  5. Accessibility bar on the dashboard, search and navigation pages, and document view.
  6. New look and feel of the Dietary Reference Intake tables permits easier viewing and ability to download.
  7. Limit of three concurrent sessions; upon the fourth log-in attempt, the user will be notified that they have reached their session limit and will need to log out of one of the previous sessions or wait for 90 minutes for the sessions to time-out automatically.

Benefits of the updated DSC Online experience include:

  • Unified user interface across all USP compendia. The updated DSC Online has the look-and-feel of USP–NF/PF Online and the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC).
  • Simplified navigation of all content with annotations explaining the content of different sections, thereby optimizing the experience for new or infrequent users.
  • Comprehensive search that operates like search tools on many popular websites.
  • Under-the-hood improvements in platform and infrastructure to optimize user experience, increase speed and enable continuous functionality upgrades.

Key Points

  • A USP Access Point account (https://register.usp.org/) with a subscription key is required for login.
  • For more information on using the features within the Dietary Supplements Compendium Online please refer to the video tutorials available from the dashboard.

Notes

  1. If a reagent title is not appearing in the navigation menu, perform the search for it and find it in the search results.
  2. Some Food Chemicals Codex monographs may only display one CAS number for an ingredient, while multiple CAS numbers may be featured in the FCC Online.
  3. The users of Internet Explorer 11 are advised to upgrade to Microsoft Edge. Handling of PDF documents within DSC Online by the outdated Internet Explorer helper application protocols will be suboptimal and may result in incorrect rendering.
